Day 4

Consumption

Today i had two glasses of water and then stuck to lemonade for the rest of the day. I washed my hands a few times, did the laundry, brushed my teeth twice, and took a ten min shower.

Today i had cereal for breakfast and half a sandwich for lunch. I had crackers throughout the day and i had half a cheeseburger for dinner.

I barely used any electricity today besides my phone and the computer right now.  Ive been shutting lights off in my house since i got home or have been staying in one room.  I also ran the dryer and blow dried my hair tonight.

I was driven to school today and picked up from practice.

I didnt spend any money today.

Reduction

Today i cut back on my shower which is a big deal for me. Im a giant snail so i usually take forever in the shower and i tried to speed it up a lot today.  I still havent gone on twitter and am barely using facebook at all. I again didnt buy food before practice today. I also didnt listen to my ipod tonight while i showered. 

Sustainability

Cutting back on my shower was the most difficult thing ive been trying to do since this project started and today i finally accomplished it.  Its definitely something that if im less careless about i can be cutting back everyday. I still havent been using as much technology and it hasn’t been a problem for me.  And i think that tomorrow i might pack an extra snack so that i have no excuse to spend money before the game tomorrow.  I had to blow dry my hair tonight which i didnt do last night and the night before and this is something that isnt that necessary.

What im learning from others

I was surprised to see that according to their posts most people cut back on alot of the water they used today.  Not flushing the toilet as much was a really good idea since we learned how much water that uses. I just dont think id be able to go a day without drinking water at all.

Day 3

Consumption

Today i had at least four glasses of water, took a ten min shower, brushed my teeth twice, and washed my hands several times.

Today i ate a yogurt some crackers a sandwich and then i had past and sauce for dinner.

I only used electricity in the rooms i was in today i also tried to shut off lights in my house in rooms that no one was in.

I got a ride to school and home from school today.

I didnt spend any money today.

Reduction

Today i tried not to snack before lunch but it didnt really halep because i dodnt have that great of a breakfast. I didnt spend any money on anything today and i tried to cut back on my shower for a dew mins. I also didnt listen to my ipod in the shower today. I was on the phone a lot tonight but I still haven’t been on twitter since saturday and I’ve only been using facebook on my phone to check my notifications. And I didn’t use my computer at all till I went to post but then I fell asleep so I wasn’t using it for long.

Sustainability

Compared to yesterday I think I reduced much more. I didn’t have any unnecessary snacks during the day today, only what I needed. Not spending money is something I can focus on everyday cause I don’t need to be by snacks from the truck before practice everyday. And listening to my ipod in the shower is something that I can definitely stop doing. Not using twitter has been killing me but ill manage without it. And tomorrow I can probably try to use my phone a lot less than I did today.

What I’m learning from others

I’m surprised to see that everyone is actually cutting back and trying to reduce their consumption. There’s a lot of things that many of us can’t cut back on but its encouraging to see that everyones trying.


Day 2

Consumption

Today I drank a glass of water in the morning I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I aslo showered for fifteen mins and had another two glasses of water when I got home.

Today I didn’t eat breakfast so I kinda snacked during school. I had an apple and a juicebox for lunch and some crackers. Before practice I bought a sandwich and a lemonade and a brownie for obs. For dinner I had mashed potatoes and stuffing.

Today I wasn’t home till almost nine so I barely used any electricity.

I was in the car forever today. My coach drove us from school to practice in canton and we stopped on the way for food. Then before she drove us home she filled up with half a tank of gas because we had to make a ton of stops and we ended up being in the car for over an hour. Then when I got home I had to drive to my coaches house in charlestown.

Today I bought food before practice which I don’t usually do but I hadn’t eaten a ton all day so I figured it was kinda justified.

Reduction

I feel like I didn’t really reduce as much today. I was in the car a ton and I spent money on food. I still haven’t used twitter or facebook though and I didn’t use the computer once today. I’ve been trying to make my showers shorter but I have practice everyday.

Sustainability

I think that I cut back as much as I could I had practice far away so it wasn’t easy for me to not be in the car. I didn’t listen to my ipod all day and I didn’t use the computer so I’ve been cutting back a lot on technology usage. And personally I didn’t use a lot lights because I wasn’t really home all day. I can still cut back in the same places I think shorter showers and using my ipod and phone less.

What I’m learning from others

I feel like a lot of people had cut back more than me today. A lot of people are cutting back on water usage with reusable bottles and I think that can be something I can focus on too.

Day 1

Consumption

Today i drank a lot of water. We had a competition today so i drank more than usual. I also showered more than usual today for the same reason. 

I cut back a lot on snacks today and stuck to two meals, both homemade (if that makes any difference). Lunch and dinner.

Ive had the lights on since i got home and ill have them on till i go to bed but that will end up being less than half the day.

I drove a more than usual today. I had to drive to school, to competition then back home but we did carpool this morning!

And i spent no money today.

Reduction

Today i didnt snack at all which is really unlike me.  I didnt go on twitter at all and i only went on facebook on my phone once. I also didnt text as much as usual. I did use my ipod a lot today and i drank a lot of water.

Sustainability

Not having a ton of snacks today is probably a change i could make almost permanently its probably better for me too. On days like today i dont think i couldve reduced my consumption a lot, I needed lots of water and i needed to be in the car several times today.  I couldve not used my ipod and shut off some more lights in my house in rooms no one was in.  Not going on twitter and facebook was kinda difficult especially when i was bored during the day but it ended up not being that necessary so that is probably something i could cut back a lot on permanently if i tried.
